School Selection Framework Day 1

DAY 2 - Nov. 17th

(This is the replay. Use the Zoom link above to participate in the LIVE session each night.)

Tonights content:

1. In review of Day 1, we began to share what factors about school were important to us. I pushed into the statement "Overall our school is good," by asking "What specifically makes it GOOD?" The more specific your ideas about what makes your school, the instruction, a specific teacher etc. GOOD, the easier it will be to find it in your school options.

2. I shared the 4 Schooling Options, outside of regular in-person school.

3. We broke down how 1 family's high scoring personal goals and discussed how each might show up in the 4 different kinds of schools.

Homework:

  1. From your data collected last night (important factors and personal goals) select 1-2 in each category that are the most important to you and your teen. These become your CRITERIA for school selection.
  2. Discuss how these might show up in each schooling option and which 2 seem to be your best options.
  3. Come share in the Telegram group about what you are figuring out. Also bring questions to the Telegram group. I will be in there addressing questions and helping you gain clarity on your most important factors.

DAY 3 - Nov. 18th

(This is the replay.)

Tonights content:

1. In review of Day 2, we discussed how to use the important factors and personal goals to begin to narrow the types of school type options down to 1-2.

2. We took a look at some websites/articles that have lists of schools within a school type. For example... we looked at a list of 12 different on-line schools to see the range of options within a school type.

3. One of the final steps in my school selection framework is to do a deep comparison of 2-3 BEST options by looking at what a week COULD look like.  I took us through comparing a traditional in-person or on-line school week to a school week in my school with a project-driven school model.

4. Finally, I invited anyone who is interested in MY SCHOOL MODEL to a phone conversation to see if my school would be a good fit for you and me. If this is you, please respond to my email or text and let's set up a phone call.
